Synopsis: Ahaziah and Jehoram, the next two kings of Israel, followed the evil example of Ahab. They were faithless men who listened to false prophets instead of the living God. However, God still showed His great power over man and nations by helping Israel. During the divided kingdom, the office of the prophet became more prominent. However, some of the prophets suffered greatly for the truth. As Israel and Judah departed further from God, the message of repentance preached by the prophets became stronger.
